We are a Level 1 Pediatric Trauma center and hold Level 1 Pediatric Surgery Verification from the American College of Surgeons. Faculty have academic appointments at George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences. We have a team of 39 pediatric anesthesiologists, 13 Certified Anesthesiologist Assistants, five Nurse Practitioners and trainees covering 20 operating and procedure rooms, three cardiac catheterization labs, preoperative care clinic, chronic pain clinic, and a radiology suite that includes six MRI scanners, nuclear medicine, and interventional radiology. We also cover three pediatric ambulatory surgery centers in the DC suburbs and pediatric radiation therapy at Sibley Hospital. Children's National hosts ACGME-certified fellowship training programs in Pediatric Anesthesiology, Cardiac Anesthesiology, and Pain Medicine. Residents from George Washington University, Uniformed Health Services University (National Capital Consortium), and Georgetown University rotate here for their pediatric anesthesiology training.
