This is a partnership-track position in an academic setting. Candidates must be certified by the American Board of Anesthesiologists and Pediatric Anesthesiology board-certified or be in the certification process. Must have completed an ACGME-accredited Pediatric Anesthesiology Fellowship.Job Description:CHKD is a 266-bed freestanding children’s hospital and Level 1 Pediatric Trauma Center located in Norfolk, Virginia, including a 25-bed PICU / 60-bed NICU. Our group covers the main hospital at CHKD as well as two ambulatory surgery centers in the Hampton Roads area, affording a varied case mix from routine healthy to higher acuity. Our surgical case volume is approximately 14,000 cases per year. Our physicians participate in a mix of doing own cases (~80%) and supervising residents and CRNAs (~20%). Call is covered utilizing a well-liked night float system with two anesthesiologists in house at all times.
