Job Title:Pediatric Cardiac Anesthesiologist
Date Posted:2025-07-31
Job Location:Madison, WI
Job Requirements:Board certified/eligible in Anesthesiology and Pediatric Anesthesiology.
Completion of a Pediatric Anesthesia fellowship with further training or significant experience in Pediatric Cardiac Anesthesia.
Job Description:The Division of Pediatric Anesthesiology at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health is seeking a Pediatric Cardiac Anesthesiologist to join our growing practice in Madison, Wisconsin. Our cohesive team of cardiac anesthesiologists, 2 surgeons, and 3 interventional/EP cardiologists work closely together to care for patients having 280 surgical cases, 350 cardiac catheterizations, and 150 EP cases/year. We care for patients across a wide spectrum of cardiac acuity, including complex neonates, VADs and transplants, and adult congenital patients. Extremely collegial team with excellent outcomes.

This position is primarily pediatric cardiac anesthesia but we also cover complex cardiac patients having non-cardiac surgery. Cardiac call is from home.

We work with residents, fellows, and anesthetists, and numerous educational and academic opportunities exist. Applicants choose between a purely clinical track or an academic track. Those with academic interests are encouraged and supported in their endeavors.

Pay and benefits are competitive. Madison enjoys 4 seasons with plenty of outdoor activities, and repeatedly earns accolades: one of the best cities to raise a family, fittest city, best city for runners and bikers, best city for work-life balance, best local farmer's market, and all-around best place to live.
Contact information:For further information, please contact George Kirvassilis, MD (Director of Pediatric Cardiac Anesthesiology) at kirvassilis@wisc.edu. Full job description can be found at https://jobs.wisc.edu/jobs/pediatric-cardio-thoracic-anesthesiologist-madison-wisconsin-united-states
