This is a Fellowship Postion
Job Title:Pediatric Cardiac Anes. Advanced Fellowship-ACGME
Date Posted:2025-09-15
Job Location:Little Rock, AR
Job Requirements:Pediatric Cardiac Anesthesiology Advanced Fellowship (ACGME) at Arkansas Children's Hospital

Applicants must have completed a pediatric or adult cardiac anesthesia fellowship before starting this advanced fellowship. The fellowship program, affiliated with the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, provides equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants and can sponsor H-1B or J-1 visas. We also offer a combined first-year pediatric anesthesia and second-year pediatric cardiac anesthesia fellowship.
Job Description:This ACGME-accredited advanced fellowship is offered by the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences with training at Arkansas Children's Hospital in Little Rock. Arkansas Children's Hospital is the only pediatric hospital in Arkansas and is among one of the largest pediatric hospitals in the United States.

The Arkansas Children's Heart Institute offers the full spectrum of surgical and catheterization treatments for congenital heart disease, including single ventricles, VADs, and transplants. It encompasses 2 CVORs, 2 catheterization labs including a hybrid suite, a 35-bed CVICU/step-down unit, and cardiac PACU.

The fellow is afforded every opportunity for hands-on skills learning and clinical management with minimal competition from other trainees. On average, the fellow places well over 100 CVLs and 100 arterial lines during the training year. The pediatric cardiac anesthesiologists care exclusively for the cardiac patients and when not teaching the fellows one-on-one, perform cases solo and independently.

What three things most distinguish this program from other similar programs?
1. Comprehensive training geared toward autonomy for complex congenital cardiac cases upon graduation.
2. Great team and work environment with attention to fellows well-being.
3. Professional development beyond clinical competency for a successful and fulfilling career
