Exceptionally qualified international applicants with ECFMG certification are also welcome to apply.Job Description:The Heart Center at NCH is ranked #5 nationally in Pediatric Cardiology & Heart Surgery and provides world class care for patients of all ages with congenital heart conditions. It is a state-of-the-art facility with a very cohesive, multidisciplinary team performing more than 400 cardiopulmonary bypass surgeries, 600 catheterization procedures, and 200 non-bypass cardiac procedures each year. Our one-year Pediatric Cardiac Anesthesiology Fellowship offers advanced, comprehensive training in the perioperative management of patients with congenital heart disease, preparing fellows for confident independent practice. Fellows spend eight months in the cardiac operating rooms, providing clinical care for patients with a broad spectrum of complex cardiac conditions, including single ventricle physiology, heart/lung transplantation, acquired and congenital cardiomyopathies, patients receiving or dependent on cardiac assist devices, surgical procedures on ECMO, intrapartum interventions such as EXIT procedures and immediate postpartum access to cardiac therapy (IMPACT), adults with CHD, and bloodless cardiac surgery for patients of the Jehovahâs witness faith. Training follows ACGME guidelines with additional rotations in CTICU, EP, Echocardiography and perfusion along with a robust didactic schedule and numerous research opportunities. A substantial financial incentive and moonlighting opportunities will be included.
