Tours of Texas Children’s Hospital New Legacy Tower: Operating Rooms/ICU/Heart Center (Opened 2018)

One of the largest children's hospitals in the nation, Texas Children's Hospital Department of Pediatric Anesthesiology, Perioperative and Pain Medicine is delighted to be located in Houston, the host city for the SPA, CCAS and SPPM meeting in March 2019. The Department of Anesthesiology provides more than 50,000 anesthetics annually, with high complexity procedures, all housed in state-of-the-art facilities.

We wish to welcome SPA meeting attendees to our home, and offer tours and information about the rich history and exciting future of our institution. Tours of the brand new Legacy Tower, which opened in 2018, housing 6 high-complexity ORs, intraoperative MRI, new 96-bed PICU complex, and Heart Center with 4 CVORs, 4 Cath labs, and 54 bed CICU, will be offered through a shuttle service provided by Texas Children's Hospital from and to the Marriott Marquis in downtown Houston.

Tours will be held on Saturday March 16, 2019 from 3:00-5:30 PM. Tours will last for 60 minutes, including a reception with refreshments, and a presentation outlining the activities of the Department of Anesthesiology.  There will be optional tours of the Texas Heart Institute/Cooley Museum.
